Keep your pet in the garden wirelessly.

The PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless Pet Containment System has been proven safe, comfortable, and effective for all pets over 2.3 kg. The system works by transmitting a radio signal up to 32 m (64 m diameter) in all directions.

With this innovative, portable system, there are no wires to bury.

Just plug the Transmitter into an electrical outlet close to the area where you want to contain your pet. Charge the rechargeable Receiver Collar in 2-3 hours.

The Transmitter communicates with your dog’s Receiver Collar and helps keep him in the designated area by first delivering a warning tone should he approach the containment perimeter, and then by delivering a harmless but surprising electrical stimulation should he proceed further towards the containment edge.

The system is portable, so you can bring it along with you! An unlimited number of pets can be added to the system as long as they wear a PetSafe® Wireless Receiver Collar.

Invisible dog fences have been available to consumers for over 30 years, and are endorsed both by veterinarians and animal welfare groups like the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the  IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals). When used correctly on healthy dogs of an appropriate age, they are a safe and humane way to keep your pet safely in your yard and out of danger.

The PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless Fence kit is enough for one dog to cover half an acre, for each additional dog you will need to purchase additional receivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How old does my pet have to be before starting training on the PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless Fence?

Because all pets are different, training on this system can be started once your pet can learn basic obedience commands like “sit” and “stay”. The system should only be used with pets who are over 6 months of age. If your pet is injured or its mobility is otherwise impaired, contact your veterinarian or professional trainer before use.

2. Is the Receiver Collar waterproof?

Yes.

3. Will the PetSafeWireless Pet Containment System cover a larger circle than 64 m across?

You can use another wireless Transmitter with overlapping boundaries of at least 2 m to 3 m to get a larger Pet Area.

4. Will a sloping garden affect the Pet Area?

The Transmitter signal extends 32 m in all directions. A sloping garden can cause the Pet Area to appear less or more than expected. Consider repositioning the Transmitter to maximize your Pet Area.

5. Can I use more than one Receiver Collar with the Stay + Play Wireless Fence?

Yes. There is no limit to the number of pets you can contain with the Stay + Play Wireless Fence. You must purchase an additional Receiver Collar for each pet.

Contact the Customer Care Centre or visit our website at www.petsafe.net to locate a retailer near you.

6. Will the Stay + Play Wireless Fence™ keep other pets out of my garden?

No. The Wireless System is only effective on pets who wear the Receiver Collar.

7. Is there a hand-held remote Transmitter that will work with the Stay + Play Wireless FenceReceiver Collar?

No. You would need to purchase a separate Remote Training System.

Contact the Customer Care Centre or visit our website at www.petsafe.net to locate a retailer near you.

8. Is there a smaller Receiver Collar or another compatible Receiver Collar that I can use with the wireless Transmitter?

No. Contact the Customer Care Centre or visit our website at www.petsafe.net for additional ideas or solutions.

9. If I have a question about my Stay + Play Wireless Fence or need replacement parts, where can I get answers or service?

Contact the Customer Care Centre or visit our web site at www.petsafe.net.

10. Can I use the Stay + Play Wireless Fence on an aggressive pet?

This product is not for use with aggressive pets. If you are unsure if your dog is aggressive, please consult your veterinarian or a certified trainer.

11. Can I use the Stay + Play Wireless Fence on a cat?

The Stay + Play Wireless Fence™ can be used as long as the cat can comfortably wear the Receiver Collar.

12. What happens if the power is cut?

The Stay + Play Wireless Fence™ is designed to recognize power cuts and shuts down without activating the Receiver Collar. However, if your pet is near the Boundary Zone during the power failure, he may receive a Static Stimulation. The Transmitter will sound an intermittent alarm for up to 30 minutes to alert you to the power failure.

13. If my pet leaves the Pet Area, for how long will he be corrected?

Your pet will receive Static Stimulation for up to 15 seconds as long as he is out of the Pet Area.

14. How often do I need to charge the Receiver Collar battery?

Battery life depends on how frequently your pet tests the Boundary Zone. The Receiver Indicator Light acts as a low battery indicator, flashing every 4 to 5 seconds when replacement is required.

15. Can I place the Receiver on another collar?

Yes. You may use any 1.9 cm, non-metallic collar.

16. Do I need to perform maintenance on my Stay + Play Wireless Fence?

• Check your pet’s neck daily for irritation from the Contact Points.

• Check the Contact Points on the Receiver Collar weekly to make sure they are tight and clean.

• Check the fit of the Receiver Collar weekly.

• The Receiver Indicator Light acts as a low battery indicator, flashing every 4 to 5 seconds when replacement is required.

17. How do I know the battery in the Receiver Collar is still working?

Check Receiver Indicator Light.

18. Will vehicles, buildings, and landscape features (trees, shrubs, etc.) affect the performance of the Stay + Play Wireless Fence?

• Yes. Placing the Transmitter inside a metal building can reduce the maximum range of the Wireless System.

• Parking a vehicle within the Pet Area, can reduce the range of the system and cause your pet to receive a Static Stimulation where it otherwise would not if the vehicle was not there.

• Fixed large metal objects such as metal sheds can affect the signal by reducing the maximum range of the system at the location of the object. As a result, your pet may receive a Static Stimulation.

19. What do I do if my pet’s neck becomes red and irritated?

This condition is due to the Contact Points irritating the skin. Discontinue use of the Receiver Collar for a few days. If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian. Once the skin returns to normal, replace the Receiver Collar and monitor the skin condition closely.

20. Can I attach a lead to the Receiver Collar?

No. This can result in pulling the Contact Points too tightly against your pet’s neck.

Attach a lead to a separate, nonmetallic collar positioned above the Receiver Collar.

21. Why does my Receiver Collar have a beep only mode?

The beep only mode can be used in training your pet to his boundary or for well-trained pets that no longer require Static Stimulation.

22. What if my Transmitter alarm is sounding?

A beeping tone indicates power cut. If the Transmitter fails to transmit a proper signal, a continuous alarm will sound. Contact the Customer Care Centre or visit our website at www.petsafe.net.

23. The Transmitter is beeping intermittently when I unplug the Power Adapter from the wall outlet.

The Power Cut Alarm in the Transmitter is activated to alert you that power has been removed from the Transmitter and your pet is no longer being contained.

To turn off the Power Cut Alarm, unplug the Power Adapter from the Power Jack located on the bottom of the Transmitter or press the Alarm Disable Button for 5 seconds then release.

24. The Transmitter is generating a loud continuous tone.

The Transmitter has a built in Transmission Failure Alarm that continuously monitors the Transmitter output. If a transmission failure ever occurs the alarm warns you that your pet is no longer being contained.

Contact the Customer Care Centre or visit our website at  www.petsafe.net for a replacement Transmitter.
